Yeshiva College Pre Primary School
Yeshiva College Pre Primary school aims to develop the individual needs, experiences, abilities and interests of each and every child within a secure, stimulating and nurturing environment.
Curriculum
The integrated General Studies and Limudei Kodesh programme, provides a solid foundation for future years at Yeshiva College. The following provides a brief overview of the extensive offering at Yeshiva Pre Primary School:
- Limudei Kodesh - an extensive and Torah rich programme has been created by Morah Sheila Sklaar. Children develop a beautiful and enriching love of Judaism, Yiddishkeit and love of Israel, combined with a thorough understanding of Jewish values, Aleph Bet, Chagim, weekly Parshah, shabbos rings and Darkeinu.
- General Studies – weekly and seasonal themes underpin the general studies programme for each Pre Primary unit, stimulating the physical, social, intellectual and creative skills of the individual child. Children are taught basic numeracy and literacy skills, gross and fine motor development, language enrichment and music appreciation.
- Additional annual activities include Purim puppet shows, Pesach Seders; Lag B’Omer functions, Yom Ha’atzmaoth festivities; Shavuoth celebrations; general puppet and music shows; visits to the Matzah factory and much more.
Facilities
- Resident Occupational Therapist and Speech and Hearing Therapist
- Extra curricular activities offered include Music; Playball; Ballet, Gymnastics and Karate.
- We offer an After Care facility
The school consists of 11 classes, a Kodesh and a Media Centre as well as 3 well equipped gardens.
Yeshiva College Pre-Primary School is run by a team of professional, passionate educators, dedicated to ensuring that each child’s unique individuality is realized.
Grade R Programme
The Grade R programme has recently been enhanced and formalized, incorporating the following permanent changes:
- The Grade R day ends later than the rest of the Pre Primary school.
- Introduction of Letterland.
- Introduction of the Aleph Beis.
- Weekly Sports sessions have been incorporated, during which the children make use and become familiar with the Primary school sports facilities.
